2023 Nova Scotia Art Bank Exhibition, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Halifax, NS
“The 2023 Nova Scotia Art Bank Purchases Exhibition includes the works of 17 Nova Scotian artists whose artworks were chosen by a peer assessment committee of professional Nova Scotian artists through the Art Bank Purchase Program. Since 1975 this program has encouraged the development of artistic excellence and stimulated awareness of visual arts and fine craft throughout the province. Comprised of close to 2,400 works of art, the artworks in this collection are owned and maintained by Arts Nova Scotia.”
Artists included in this exhibition: Carrie Allison, Bonnie Baker, Cecil Day, Louis-Charles Dionne, Hannah Epstein, Luke Fair, Rebecca Fisk, Jesse Fraser, François Gaudet, Kaas Ghanie, Takashi Hilferink, Mike Kasongo, Steph Kincade, Shauna MacLeod, Ruth Marsh, Amy Rubin, and Sorrel Van Allen.

2024 RBC Emerging Artist Award for TOdd Houseman, 2024 Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards, National Arts Centre, Ottawa, ON
Congratulations Todd Houseman! The recipient of the 2024 RBC Emerging Artist Award. It was a pleasure and an honour to create this sculptural silver award presented at the 2024 Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards this past weekend.
“RBC was thrilled to honour Todd Houseman with the 2024 RBC Emerging Artist Award this past weekend at The 2024 Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards, presented by RBC at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.”
Todd, a Nêhiyaw (Cree) actor, writer, and improviser, is celebrated for pushing boundaries and finding contemporary ways to express Indigenous culture. Marjolaine Hudon, Regional President, Ontario North & East, RBC, and Mark Beckles, Vice President, Social Impact and Innovation, RBC were delighted to present the award and congratulate Todd.
